Canada National Football Team

Association canadienne de soccer
(Canada Soccer Association)
Founded in 1912

The Canada men’s national soccer team has been a fixture in international football since 1924, proudly representing the nation’s soccer heritage. Governed by the Canadian Soccer Association, the team has been a member of FIFA since 1948 and CONCACAF since 1961.

Their notable achievements include winning the 1985 CONCACAF Championship, which secured their qualification for the 1986 FIFA World Cup. Additionally, their victory in the 2000 CONCACAF Gold Cup earned them a spot in the 2001 FIFA Confederations Cup. Canada is notably the only national team, apart from Mexico and the United States, to have claimed a Gold Cup title.

In addition to their continental success, Canada holds a gold medal from the 1904 Summer Olympics, showcasing their early contributions to international football. Their recent qualification for the 2022 FIFA World Cup underscores their ongoing development in the global football landscape.

Looking ahead, Canada’s football journey is set to reach new heights as they co-host the 2026 FIFA World Cup alongside the United States and Mexico. This monumental event will provide an opportunity for Canada to showcase its soccer talent and passion on the world stage, fostering excitement and pride among fans nationwide.
